Homemade beautiful clock

This gift is a perfect housewarming present or a beautiful gift for your roommates, mom, sister, or grandparents. This craft takes about 30minutes and is under $25-30 depending on the type of clock kit you purchase. The clock kit is available at any local craft store... if you have no such luck you can order one online!

Supplies..
  • Clock Kit
  • Fancy Paper
  • Medium Decoupage
  • Buttons
  • Strong Glue
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paint (any color you want for your project)
  • Clear Acrylic Spray
  • Ruler
  • Cutting Mat
  • Scissors
  • Foam Brush
  • Pen
  • Paint Brush
Step 1.) Cut about 8-10 strips from different paper. The strips should be wider on one end that the other. They should not all be the same size or shape. The ends of the paper should be hanging over the edge of the clock face, adjust paper size as needed.

Step 2.) Working in small sections using a foam brush, coat the clock face with a generous layer of decoupage medium and stick on the paper strips. Smooth as you go. (HINT: make sure there is plenty of paper hanging off all edges) Let it dry.

Step 3.)Once dry flip the clock over and secure the ends with glue or tape.

Step 4.) Coat another generous layer of decoupage on front of clock. Let Dry.

Step 5.) The easiest way to figure out the proper placement for the clock numbers is to use a paper plate. A small paper plate should fit perfectly on the clock face.Draw lines evenly spaced around the back of the paper plate, using a pen and ruler, until you have spots marked for all 12 numbers.Make sure they are evenly spaced!

Step 6.) Place the paper plate on your clock face making sure the lines are all going in the right direction. Use a strong glue to attach the buttons,to represent each number. Let the glue dry before you move the clock.

Step 7.) Optional: you can paint the clock hands to match your clock, not necessary but a nice finishing touch.

Step 8.) Lastly attach the hands to your clock, using the directions for your clock kit!
