While visiting my grandmother over the summer I opened up the freezer to my delight. On a tray were 50+ cookie dough truffles waiting for me to devour. After eating about 5 in one sitting I began to think of what an amazing gift this would make so I thought I would pass this recipe along....
To make the amazing chocolate chip cookie dough....
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 and a little extra cup of flour
Pinch of fine sea salt
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
After you have made the cookie dough you will want to roll the dough into 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch balls and place them on a nonstick pan and freeze them for 24-48 hours.
To begin the dipping...
Melt 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chip and begin dipping and decorating! I personally enjoy sea salt on mine, but have the freedom to go crazy with sprinkles, white chocolate or any other ideas you might have.
All about presentation...
Use an old BUT CLEAN box and use some colorful tissue paper to liven it up. On the outside box I would recommend using a block color wrapping paper to make your white box go to WOW box.
Recipe is courteous to the FoodNetwork and my grandmother Mary Gosney!
